Sustainability today is about choices – those that we make as a cabinet manufacturer and those that you make as a consumer. Some eco-friendly cabinetry options require systemic changes, while others are simple to implement, however both contribute significantly to a more livable future.
Taking Steps That Make a Difference
At MasterBrand, cutting waste, reducing energy use and conserving resources are important steps in realizing our long-standing sustainability goals. From wood chips to computer chips, up to 90% of the waste produced in our cabinet-manufacturing process is reused or recycled, avoiding landfills. Our wood scraps, for example, are used for animal bedding, boiler fuel and are mixed with wax to make fireplace starter logs.
Recognized Environmental Leadership
Administered by the Kitchen Cabinet Manufacturer’s Association (KCMA) and aligned with the National Association of Home Builders' Green Home Building Guidelines, the voluntary Environmental Stewardship Program (ESP) certifies companies that demonstrate the use of environmentally responsible materials in cabinet products and minimize their environmental impact by recycling wastes and using low emission coatings.

Community Involvement
The health of our communities is equally important to the wellness of our planet. This is why our approach to sustainability encompasses both community involvement and environmental initiatives.
Communities need, and deserve, support from local businesses in order to thrive. This is why community service is integral to MasterBrand's core beliefs. We contribute to many national and local organizations through both financial and non-financial means. Recent activities include:
- Providing labor, money, and cabinetry materials to Habitat for Humanity
- Supporting local Relay for Life teams and the American Red Cross
- Sponsoring youth athletics, scouting and academic ventures such as Junior Achievement
- Hosting "Denim Fridays," a casual Friday dress option to raise funds for a different charity each week – all employees who wear jeans to work donate $1 for the privilege.
